Eric Spurgeon is a local up and coming singer/song writer. Eric plays original Americana/Folk music. Steve Wildsmith, Weekend Editor for the Maryville Daily Times, noted of Eric, “This guy is a talented musician; he has a lot of potential.” Join Eric Spurgeon as he kicks off the first act on the 2011 Stage at Roy’s.
The Dirty Dougs are the musical duo of Doug Harris and Doug Sneed. Their style is to put heart and soul into every song. They can wail, they can croon, they will catch your attention and they will entertain you.
They describe their music as progressive roots and they join the Stage at Roy’s as one of the new additions.
Mountain Folk Reunion is a trio that plays the folk style music of the Hootenanny Era. They will perform the sing along songs of a not so distant time that are still the melodies to hum to make a day go better. Join Walker, Bobby and Kelly for an afternoon set of feel good music.
Rural Route Bluegrass Band is a family and friend band from the Johnson City area and features Cory Jeter and Kevin Lane, two students in the Bluegrass Bachelor Degree from East Tennessee State University. The combination of Cory on guitar, Kevin on banjo, Katie on mandolin and Galen Jeter on bass, this band of East Tennesseans is sure to be true bluegrass entertainment. Roy Garrett, of Roy’s Music, for whom this stage is named, will return to the performance stage with this family and friends to open the Saturday stage. Roy and his crew will share some of his favorite songs with the folks at the festival.
Gritte Fritter, aka real life John Dupree, returns as a perennial favorite. John has performed the Art Way since the stage was a few bales of straw and a sidewalk. John, a singer/song writer will perform his creations and his perfected renditions of Mystique Americana Music.
Donnie and Debbie Barbara a longtime, local, favorite musical couple return to the Stage at Roy’s. Donnie and Debbie have a smooth musical style that is gentle to the soul.
Pistol Creek Catch of the Day is a high energy group that plays Acoustic-Rockabilly-Swing-Americana Songs from the 1920’s through the 1970’s. Named after the stream running through Maryville, their music takes about as many turns as that creek. You never know what they will play next. This local band is looking forward to having fun on the Stage at Roy’s.
Songwriter Jim Myers has played in the Knoxville area for years. He brings his old timey blues style to originals and obscure Americana covers on guitar, bottleneck guitar and ukulele.
The Madelines are a trio of women with happy well produced songs. They have a perfect blend of voices, rhythm and assorted complimentary accessory sounds. You will be amazed at what Jessica, Brenda and Jenny bring to the stage. The Madeline’s close the Saturday Stage at Roy’s. They are a "don't miss group" before you enjoy Reba on the main stage.
The Rhythm Pick-ups are back to open the Sunday Stage at Roy’s. The Rhythm Pick-ups bring a truck load of local musicians to play selections of country, bluegrass, gospel and novelty songs. These folks are always a favorite on Sunday morning. You can also catch these folks on Saturday nights at Music Row in Maryville.
Singer Song Writer Sunday - The East Tennessee Songwriters will show case their talents on stage You will appreciate the creativity and the introduction of new music to the world.You will want to be downtown Maryville at the Stage at Roy’s mid-day on Sunday.
Robert Anderson describes himself as”Thumb and Fingerstyle Guitarist”. Chet Atkins has been his influence since a boy. Robert’s cool and interesting arrangements make him the perfect entertainer for a Sunday afternoon. The Art Way welcomes Robert Anderson to the Stage at Roy’s.
The Mediocre Band is closing out the Stage at Roy’s…again. Back by request, this forty year old Blount County garage band still rocks the streets. Friends as teens; these middle age guys have a hometown rock n roll that appeals to rockers of ages. Whether you are in a stroller or a rocker, you’ll like these local boys.
